This Week: 3km Speed work and 6km Long Slow Distance Increase
Trying to run 3km in 15 minutes just reminds me why I hated track and field days in grade school so much. When I set out I was full of myself. 3km in 15 minutes? Piece of cake!
Ya. Right.
Mmm cake.
Two blocks in I thought I was going to die and decided that being kicked in the groan a bazillion times might be more fun. I started at 4:00 pace and finished at 7:00.
And just as I was making my way back to Casa du Laura trying to convince myself that 00:17:53 was just as good as 00:15:00 (at least it wasn't 00:20:00... right?) I was engulfed by the smell of freshly sizzlin' bacon.
Why is it that my neighbor ALWAYS decides to cook the most delicious foods when I vow to restrict myself to apples and oranges as a "treat".
If only bacon would make me a better speed demon. Sigh.
